Man of Medan: How to end the game with Julia alive. No Idea how I would've done it without the Claymore, it was pretty core to my anti-machinegunner strategy of parrying two of their bullets in one swing.Video game, gameplay, price, 60fps, steam I only just now realized it was because I took the Claymore sword when I visited the Lab. I managed to get the gold medal achievement by having 0 death and gold medal times on the first 9 levels (from start to slaughterhouse included) and then just botched bunker 1&2 and got it. if there is some interest I can share my script here.Īlso to actually learning how to speedrun this I recommend the speedrunner Kainalo's videos on his youtube channel. to make things simpler I even wrote a simple autohotkey script to quickly kill the game process and relaunch the game right after and also creating a backup of the speedrun save, in case I accidentally finish a level and the game overwrite the save with lots of time/death, it's always possible to return to the previous level by restoring the backup. so basically you can do a whole "segmented" speedrun where you train each screen and relaunch the game when you are ready. There is a way to bypass the speedrunning for the achievement sort of, basically the game saves once you change screen, so you just launch a level, die a lot on it train it then once you are ready for the "real" run you just alt F4 the game, relaunch it and load the speedrun and you should be back at the start of that level with the time and death count it was when the game saved. I would say that if you found the base game to be really easy and would like a challenge, and you enjoy BDSM, you can try hardmoding Bunker Pt2. Speedrunning seems fun, but I haven't decided to do it yet, as it seems rather stressful, especially considering that I just had to survive the hardmode purgatory. The psychiatrist required me to die and restart multiple times, but as that fight didn't have shield guys or machine gunners, it was relatively easier. Not gonna lie, I kind of have PTSD of Bunker Pt2 and the 1st phase of the headhunter fight, on hardmode I felt that it was kind of cheap with the machine gunners and shielders (especially if they decide to knock you back mid-roll to ruin your day). Sometimes I can cut through the shield to kill the guy, sometimes I can't, I guess even after playing this game for an extended period of time, some parts still feel a bit inconsistent.

One big issue is that rolling doesn't feel consistent with its invincibility, sometimes randomly, during a roll, the shield dudes decide to knock you down and kill you, while other times I can nicely roll through them and kill them. I am not the worst player, but certain behaviors feel kinda random, and certain mechanics felt a bit inconsistent (or maybe that's the next level of skill in this game that I haven't reached yet).

I haven't trained my nerves and patience since school, and I'm not sure it was worth it in the end (I think I was at around 400-500 deaths total before Bunker pt2. I just recently completed the game ,and as I really loved it, I decided to try and get as close to 100%-ing it as possible, which included completing hardmode - I had over 1100 deaths, and like 70% of the deaths happened in Bunker pt 2 with headhunter and psychiatrist (decided to complete his achievement on hardmode).
