I used 10 full skeins for the body of the blanket and approx. If you’re using a different size yarn, just adjust the hook size according to the yarn. This blanket is made with Lion Brand Basic Stitch Anti-pilling yarn in steel blue, turquoise, heather, and white using a 4.5mm hook. So, this is kind of like homemade self-striping yarn :). I noticed when using self-striping yarn, one color ends and another begins in the middle of the row, and it looks great. Wherever the yarn ends, even if it’s in the middle of the row, you just attach a new color and keep going. This blanket is made in color blocks where each block is one skein of yarn.
